Sharron Parker & Meryll Russell, a mother/daughter team, are simply great to work with when buying a Leisure Village home. We first toured Leisure Village with Sharron about 3 years ago when visiting our son in LA. She showed us the entire community & several homes and helped us realize that Leisure Village would be a great place to move to from New York, but we were not yet ready to make that big decision. Sharron kept in touch with us over the next 2 years, during which time we finally decided it was time to make the cross-country move. When we returned to California, we met Meryll, who was nice enough to show us the community again & a few homes. Over the next few months, Meryll went out of her way to set up several virtual tours (one even while we were overseas) and at long last we found an Amalfi model that checked all of our boxes. Four weeks later, we closed.
Meryll & Sharron were always responsive to our many questions & they went above and beyond to help us through the buying process. All of the electronic “paperwork” was managed with us in New York & Meryll was always available at any time of day (even with the 3 hour difference) to help us navigate the many documents required to close escrow; she is an expert on this phase of the home buying process. In addition, she & Sharron made themselves available to check on work being done on the house both before & after closing, since we live so far away. This personal touch made us feel confident that the house was in good hands prior to closing & when we came out for the walk-through, they helped make sure everything went smoothly.

I wish I could give them 10 stars!!!! The entire experience with working with Meryll and Sharron was beyond my families expectations. My mother required more care and we had to move her out of her home in Leisure Village. We were planning to use our dearest family friend to list the home as we trusted her. Sharron had approached me one day to say that she knew my mother and grandmother personally and if she could help in anyway, she would. After much thought, and speaking with other realtors, we decided to go with Sharron and Meryll since they were very familiar with the community. That was the best decision, as they handled everything!!!! They staged the house for no cost to us- and it looked so warm and inviting. Not only did they stage, but Meryll herself, moved furniture and cleaned to make everything look more attractive. They went beyond by setting up inspections, meeting the handy man (since I couldn’t), scheduling donations and trash pick-ups, as well as having the landscape brought up to association standards. If I couldn’t be there, Meryll was there, making it so convenient. Further, they were always in communication with what needed to be done and would answer my questions within a day! I felt that utilizing a realtor who lives in the community was a benefit, as they knew the community, what forms needed to be completed as well as the association guidelines that needed to be followed. It made the world of difference! I am so grateful for everything that Meryll and Sharron have done for our family! They made a stressful and emotional situation, stress-free. Priceless! Sharron and Meryll from “We Sell Leisure Village” came highly recommended from several friends who have bought in “The Village”. They were super responsive to our request for a meeting and in short order came up with a plan to help us sell my Mom’s home. Through their expert guidance and vast list of contractors, we were able to renovate the home at a reasonable cost and get a very fair offer on the home in a quick timeframe. Meryll guided us through the whole escrow process and they both were always available to meet with the contactors so that I didn’t have to be there. This was a huge help! I would say, the hardest part of this process was learning to spell Sharron’s name with two R’s and Meryll’s name with two L’s! I was referred to Meryll and Sharron by my husband’s golf buddy who had recently handled the sale of his mother-in-law’s home when she moved to an assisted living facility. Thank you for the wonderful tour of Leisure Village on Saturday. My wife and I truly enjoyed the wealth of information, as well as the personal attention you devoted to us. We are most appreciative. I also reviewed the Leisure Village newsprint and enjoyed both your columns, very informative indeed. I also came across the recent flood zone update, which caught me by surprise. Several years ago when I was a Banker, it wasn’t an issue.
My wife and I have made up our minds to move to Leisure Village, hopefully by this year. We prefer an Amalfi, second phase, out of the flood zone area…..is this possible? Additionally we would prefer a unit that has been in better care, enabling us to simply move in as opposed to fixing up, painting, replacing windows and carpeting. We would one as we have seen, with a lower price. Then I would invest in new windows, etc. before we would move in.
Our plans are to close escrow on our duplex in L.A. (slated to close by June 25th) sell our SFR (I will attempt to sell For Sale By Owner) & rent until an Amalfi we like hits the market. We will definitely ask that you represent us as buyers.
